Last night saw musical royalty unite to attend the ever glamorous Grammy Awards 2012. The event was of course overshadowed by a shocked sadness following the tragic death of the iconic Whitney Houston on Saturday 11th February. Whitney, who had been attending the Grammy Awards rehearsals lending moral support and tips to Brandy and Monica, was found dead in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles hours before she was due to attend a star-studded party downstairs. The cause of death is still under investigation. Stars paid tribute to Whitney as the night went along with Kelly Rowland leading the way: “We lost our hero. I would not be standing here today if it was not for her” she said of the artist. “My prayers go to her mother and her daughter.  If we feel this loss I can only imagine how heavy their loss is.”

The star studded event saw singer Adele walk away with six Grammys including the Record of the Year and Album of the Year while Chris Brown walked away with Best R&B Album for his hit compilation F.A.M.E.
